Sales Rider

Position Overview

The Sales Rider is mainly responsible for distributing products promptly to our customers. He/she will is expected to represent Vivo in a professional manner and strive to increase sales and customer satisfaction.

Essential Job Functions

  • Maximising sales and meeting sales targets: This includes cross selling and upselling
  • Building and maintaining good relationships with customers
  • Handling all customer requests courteously and professionally
  • Being knowledgeable of and performing sales support functions related to Point of Sales (POS) procedures
  • Learning Vivo’s systems and procedures to enhance selling efficiencies and complete support duties
  • Promoting the Vivo Loyalty Programme
  • Verifying items to be delivered by matching orders with quantities and items handed over for dispatch and noting discrepancies.
  • Delivering a wide variety of items to different addresses and through different routes
  • Following route and time schedule
  • Loading, unloading, preparing, inspecting and operating the delivery vehicle
  • Ensuring that goods are well handled while in transit and presentable upon arrival at destination
  • Asking for feedback on provided services and escalating clients’ complaints
  • Collecting payments and issuing receipts
  • Informing customers about new products and services
  • Completing logs and reports
  • Following regulations and safety standards

Educational requirements

  • Diploma or certificate

Work-related Skills

  • 1-3 years customer service/retail sales experience preferred
  • Licensed rider (BCEFG)
  • Proven experience as a delivery rider
  • Customer driven and a keen interest in sales
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • An eye for fashion and trends
  • Ability to problem solve and find solutions for customers
  • Ability to work as part of a team and take initiative independent of direct supervision
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills. The ability to plan, organize and prioritise own work
  • Ability to bring individual judgment and creative thinking to the role
  • Articulate with a good command of English and Kiswahili (speaking, reading, writing)
